Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 & Mi 11 cast issues to get rectified soon as per forum mod; bug affects other devices too

Several Xiaomi devices are reportedly suffering from cast issues for the past few months. Users say that their phone doesn’t connect to their smart TV and other devices.

Notably, the device users try to connect their phone to does show up on the available devices list. However, trying to connect results in a prompt on the TV saying that the connection failed after around 10 seconds.

Device models affected by these cast issues include the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 10, Note 8 Pro, Mi 10T, and Mi 11. In fact, it is quite likely that many more devices are affected by the problem as well.

The cause of the casting issues on Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, Mi 11, and other devices is hard to ascertain at the moment given that there isn’t any MIUI or Android version to which the issue is limited to.

Take the Redmi Note 8 Pro, for example, which is currently running Android 10-based MIUI 12, yet is facing the same issues as the Mi 11 which has been updated to Android 11-based MIUI 12.5.

Thankfully, a couple of Mi Community mods have acknowledged the issues saying that they’ve been confirmed as a bug.

As clear from the above, the cast issues have already been reported to the developers, at least for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and Mi 11, and a fix is set to roll out soon.

Hopefully, other affected devices will be treated similarly soon. In the meantime, you can try this user suggested workaround:
